After four increasingly successful global Water for Food Conferences, we wanted to take things to a new level and Underwood Events created a truly world-class event.

The Water for Food Institute is a university-based Institute and our three-day conference attracts a diverse group of more than 500 people, ranging from scientists and farmers to CEOs and government officials from around the world.

Mike's understanding of our mission and enthusiasm for the event was incredible and showed in the creativity he brought to every detail.

The conference was a huge success and many, many attendees commented on the striking event design, as well as the high degree of professionalism and service. Several corporate sponsors were so impressed that they said they would like to increase their sponsorships for next year.

Mike was a partner in every aspect of the planning, from helping conceptualize the theme to managing the details of travel arrangements and event menus.  Despite having to adjust to major changes mid-way in the planning, he brought the conference in under budget while maintaining the highest quality. He was always personally available during the four-month planning process and his upbeat attitude and sense of humor made it a pleasure to work with him.

The Underwood Events team members were equally impressive, providing an amazing level of professionalism combined with a warm and welcoming manner that perfectly fit our event. We are holding our conference in Seattle next year, something we wouldn’t take on without the Underwood Events team. 

The Rexnord Global Leadership Meeting, from inception to the closing event, was a huge success. The execution by Underwood Events was seamless and the feedback from Rexnord Associates was uniformly positive.

Mike took a logistically complicated event and, working closely with Rexnord’s leadership to conceptualize a theme and integrate and develop the theme into the program, made it our most memorable and successful leadership meeting. Mike achieved this while working within and managing a strict budget.

Mike’s professionalism, ability to work with Rexnord’s planning committee and the high caliber of the Underwood Events Team ensured that we did not have to concern ourselves with the organizational or entertainment details related to the meeting.

As the President of his own company, Mike provides executive-level service to his clients 100% of the time. Unlike larger firms with numerous event planners on staff who have differing levels of event experience, Mike is the main point of contact with each of his clients. Additional professional help is brought on board as necessary but, as the chief creative, organizational planning and administrative officer, Mike provides a level of service not found at other event planning firms.

Our family had recently moved to Milwaukee and within a short period of time we had volunteered to co-chair an annual gala for a local nonprofit organization. We were balancing our time between a new career, acclimating ourselves to new surroundings and to top it off, we had the responsibility to plan this event.

The decision to work with Mike provided us with a well organized, vibrant -- and most important, very successful -- fundraising event for the charity - a record at the time!

Over the years, Mike has successfully planned and managed client events, prospecting events and team building events on my behalf. He always has creative ideas and is very good at communicating a vision and plan for the task at hand.

Many of these events have featured presenters such as professional money managers or professional athletes. While most of our events have been in Wisconsin, Underwood Events has helped me successfully plan and manage events in Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, Michigan and Minnesota.

Whether it’s senior management, a marketing team or guest presenters, Mike is very effective in communicating with all parties involved. I find him to be great at taking a leadership role and inspiring everyone along the way.

The Muscular Dystrophy Association has benefitted from Mike’s time, expertise and energy for the past nine years. During that time Mike has played key roles in MDA’s involvement with the Harley-Davidson Motor Company’s 100th and 105th Anniversary Celebrations and with the annual Milwaukee Black-N-Blue Ball social gala.

His organization, attention to detail, creativity and ability to work with all levels of business makes him a true treasure to the Association.

Underwood Events planned our recent corporate headquarters grand opening and it was a great success. The details were excellent and we received great feedback from our guests noting the experience and congratulating us on the success of our event.

I have worked with Mike for many years and he has done a tremendous job planning events for as few as 10 people to as many as 1,400. While based in Milwaukee, he worked for a company with national operation and therefore was involved in planning events around the entire country. I have attended many of these events over the years and each and every one was a success.

The team of people that I manage recently expanded and now includes people in Milwaukee, San Francisco, and Charlotte. This past summer, we had a team meeting in Milwaukee and about two weeks before the meeting, I approached Mike to get some ideas for a teambuilding event. I wanted something that would highlight Milwaukee/Wisconsin, something that was somewhat economical, and something that everyone would enjoy. It took Mike about 2 seconds to come up with the idea of a Milwaukee River Scavenger Hunt. He had done this same event before, but it had been awhile, so he wanted to update his materials. I told him since we only had about 2 weeks, this was not necessary, but he insisted.

Needless to say, the event went really well. We split the group into two teams and each was on a different boat. The boats were fully stocked with local refreshments and it was a fun, yet competitive activity.

Afterwards, Mike organized dinner at a restaurant near by. The team had a great time and one team member from Charlotte actually decided to relocate to Milwaukee. Best of all, the event was both enjoyable and economical.
