Krones, Inc., a leading international manufacturing company, wanted to gather its North American employees for an employee appreciation event, but because its facility is in production 24/7, it seemed to be an impossible task. Until they chose to hire Underwood Events. Instead of bringing employees to the event, UE was asked to bring the event to the manufacturing facility, building the venue onsite without disrupting the company’s operations.
In 17,000 square-feet on the manufacturing floor, Underwood Events built a spectacular meeting space and post-meeting reception area from scratch, transforming the concrete floor and metal walls into a professional, branded venue draped in the company’s trademark blue. Over two days, working with a very precise, to-the-minute timetable that ensured operations were uninterrupted, Underwood Events coordinated an assembly line of vendors that systematically brought in staging, seating for 450, lighting, branded décor, theatre-quality sound and high-definition video, which was projected on large wall screens. One of the most amazing achievements was the installation of 50 tons of temporary air conditioning, just for the event!
Awards were announced, teams of employees recognized, and a motivational speaker took the stage; there was not a single minute of downtime, making it a huge success.
